Dragonfli Roundup: Summer to Winter 2023

We’re taking a look back at the work our team accomplished in the back half of 2023. From July to December, we managed projects across the US, from our homebase in Salt Lake City to national and international broadcasts. We continued strong partnerships with brands like Inman and the National Lacrosse League, while developing new projects with Lexus and Toyota. We’re looking ahead to 2024 and even more dynamic projects and challenges for our team of event professionals.

Night in the Country

As country music stars hit the stage and fans flocked back to the Nevada desert for the legendary Night in the Country festival, our work for Toyota, the event’s presenting sponsor, continued to be on full display. We produced and managed all of Toyota’s branded elements including the VIP recharge lounge featuring a misting station, photo booth and prize wheel. Additionally, we installed and oversaw the Dealer Camp highlighted by seven RVs, five display vehicles, 10,000 square feet of astroturf, a pool, a bar, and the annual favorite — two trucks forklifted onto shipping containers. On the design of the main stage, video walls and branded banners at each entrance ensured the Toyota brand did not go unnoticed throughout the festival weekend.

Major League Rugby

We’ve been a part of the game since the inception of Major League Rugby, and we were thrilled to get the call to provide full broadcast production services for the USA Eagles’ incredible match against France’s Stade Toulousain last September. The match was broadcast live from America First Bank Stadium to Fox Sports in the US and to The Rugby Channel for global viewers. We coordinated with a French talent team calling the game from across the Atlantic, and Dragonfli provided all broadcast facilities, tech and crew.

Toyota Brand Activations

Over the latter part of 2023, the team continued their incredible work with Toyota across the Intermountain West. From brand activations at Red Butte Concerts in Salt Lake to the Fill the Truck Food Drive, we continued to support Toyota and generate dealer leads in these key markets. Our work also included activations at the USANA Amphitheatre and Utah Olympic Park, along with our activations for Real Salt Lake and the Utah Jazz.

At the Fill the Truck Food Drive in Utah, brand ambassadors greeted Smith’s shoppers at 12 events over a four-week period, helping raise over 6,400 lbs of food for the Utah Food Bank. This year, we expanded our work with the Fill the Truck Food Drive to markets in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, which raised an additional 15,000 lbs for families in need in New Mexico.

US Ski and Snowboard Toyota Grand Prix at Copper Mountain

It was a huge weekend at Copper Mountain in Colorado for the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix in December, as athletes from around the world competed in the first US FIS Freeski & Snowboard World Cup of the season. Our team built out the venue with several key branding elements. We designed and installed the 22ft Xfinity height meters along the halfpipe and built the Visa Big Air and Toyota U.S. Grand Prix finishing structures at the base of each venue, which held the announcer’s hub, DJ booth, and the venue and video control.

We’re looking ahead to the next stop for the USSA Toyota Grand Prix at Mammoth Mammoth in California.

Lexus Brand Activations

Football season was in full swing this fall in the Mountain West. As part of our work with Peterson Lexus in Boise, we activated at Boise State football games throughout the season to engage local fans.

With vehicles on display and a branded tent with a digital prize wheel, there was plenty to see and do on the way into the game. Attendees also had the chance to win prizes, from Bose Bluetooth speakers, Beats Solo3 headphones, and four VIP tickets to the 10/28 home game against Wyoming.

Park City Film

Park City Film is a nonprofit organization presenting the best of independent feature, documentary, world and local cinema. We work with PC Films on several PPC marketing campaigns, all in an effort to bring more people throughout Utah to the theater.

In addition to our marketing initiatives, we supported Park City Film’s Fall Festival at Pendry Plaza. The three nights of free screenings had something for everyone. We ran operations to set up our jumbo LED screen and sound system and ensure each showing went smoothly as the crowd relaxed and roasted marshmallows at Pendry’s fire pits.

As the chill returned to the air in Park City, we also supported PC Film’s two Twilight Drive-In ski film screenings: Matchstick Production’s “The Land of Giants” and Teton Gravity Research’s “Legend Has It”. The Drive-In films were hosted at Deer Valley Resort and added to the excitement for the upcoming ski season.

Inman News

Inman News is an industry-leading real estate news organization, keeping brokers and realtors at the forefront of the business. Over the last three years, we’ve worked with Inman to produce monthly virtual shows, featuring real estate industry professionals. In November, we produced their fall Inman Connect Virtual conference, a two-day livestream with exciting discussions on AI, inventory, mortgage rates and the NAR lawsuit. In addition to our work on the conference, we continue editing and providing support for Inman Access, a subscriber-based platform for on-demand educational sessions.

National Lacrosse League

Over the last three years, we’ve streamlined our systems and produced over 50 games each season for the San Diego Seals, Colorado Mammoth, Panther City Lacrosse Club, and the Las Vegas Desert Dogs. We use a remote production (REMI) model, which maximizes efficiency with limited staff onsite, while we produce the games from our SLC studio. This winter, we’re in the thick of the third season and watching the action unfold as the teams enter week eight.
